Change Log

25 August 2001 - 4.4 diff with limited slip centre installed

15 October 2001 - removed clutch fan and replaced with electric fan

1 November 2001 - removed air-conditioning equipment from engine bay

15 November 2001 - removed remaining air conditioning equipment from under the dash and started to remove unused cabling from wiring harness

17 November 2001 - installed lighter steel flywheel and 4-button brass clutch disk - the new assembly is 5.5 Kg lighter than the old one (see images below)

Old heavy flywheel on left, and new lighter flywheel on right (pressure plates sitting on top are identical). Old assembly is 18.5 Kg and new assembly is 13.0 Kg.

3 July 2003 - replaced stock rear-end with 1st Gen - Series 2 (1982) disc-brake rear-end and replaced brake master cylinder.

Summer 2005 - Upgrade roll cage to 8 point cage with additional side intrusion bars (NASCAR style), and a dash bar; 4-speed Mazdacomp close-ratio gearbox, bridge-port 13B with 3mm carbon apex seals, new wiring harness, Jager 5-point harness, stripped interior, new Autometer gages and tach.

Spring 2006 - 48mm IDA Webber opened up to 51mm, port matched intake manifold, new front spoiler, moved battery to passenger compartment, dual 2" stainless argon purge-welded exhaust with bullet mufflers to real axle, 3" stainless collector into 2 mufflers
